Random crap and redneckery.
Charger AWD Front Shock Replacement
After 75k or so miles the original front shocks started to clunk some. A fresh set of sachs shocks solved the problem.

928 Mechanical to Electric Fan Swap
Просмотров 8253 года назад
The belt drive fan on my 86 928 was struggling to keep up with the engine and ac at idle. A fresh fan clutch wasn't enough to keep things reasonable, so an electric fan from a Ford Contour became the ticket.
928 Intake Refresh

may very well be the first time the intake had been off this car since 1986. Lots of hardened vacuum lines and leaky seals.

Durango LSD Rebuild & Install

Rebuilding a junkyard trac lok and installing it in my 99 Durango's 9.25 axle. Filmed this over the summer with the intent of going on a trip to test the diff afterwards, but you know, chinese flu and all.

original rack developed a clunk. got a rebuilt mopar rack (most aftermarket rebuilds are garbage anymore) to put in it and then had to bleed the electric pump.
Driving around in the 928

Letting the 928 stretch it's legs some during the pandemic. Did at least get to take it to cars and coffee this weekend. Pretty sure the radio is gonna get this copyright flagged at some point, so here's a preemptive "up yours" to the jagoffs at the record company harassing the little guy.

928 Input Shaft Bearing Replacement and Limited Slip Diff Install
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
The input shaft bearing has been making some noise since putting this trans in the car. It finally annoyed me enough to spend the $400 for a new one and pull the trans to replace it. I also picked up a limited slip carrier for the car and put that in as well. Music: www.bensound.com

928 Brake Job
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.4 года назад
The old brakes on the 928 worked well, but were noisy and dusty. The rear rotors were fairly new, but the fronts were what was on it when I got it (I had them turned) and the pads were what was on it also. So I threw some new rotors on the front and some new pads all around.

What do you do when the moron you paid because you didn't have time put the bottom bolt in the wrong way. It's stuck 😂 and the fork isn't flush
I don’t have the interceptor but the regular r/t 5.7 hemi.. I changed my oil and it was milky like coolant and oil mixed. a lot of ppl said it was the head gaskets and half the ppl said oil cooler.. so I’m replacing both. flushing the oil with a couple good oil changes and doing exactly what you showed with draining the coolant.. my coolant does look like yours though.
Quick tip. If end link bolt just spins on the stud. Apply pressure to either the bottom with a floor jack, or use a small pry bar or screw driver to back of stud and it'll come off very easily.
still go back to your videos to get inspiration in 2025 !
Where did you order the stainless braided lines from? I’ve searched all over and cannot find any.
Thanks for the video. I saw your comment in another video about the AWD coupler issues. Has the newest hardened coupler with the Mercedes part number held up over the last 3 years?
Hi would you recommend it to buy? Here in Croatia 99 5.2 V8 is for sale with 56 000 miles on it.
@@denisdomitrovic2643 dobar dan, the Durango is easily the most reliable vehicle I've had.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, for 2 months. Thank you
How the hell did you fit your hand in there 😂😂 I can’t
still happy with the volvo mounts?
@@Wantobe123 haven't had any problems with them. Never had good factory ones to compare them to. I can tell you on my daily driver Charger anchor mounts were shit compared to factory ones.
@@IntenseBlue318 I’ve read on Roger’s website 10 years trouble free. I’d say (Volvo’s) are a good alternative. A locally guy in Indiana was making a batch (his own concoction) a few years back (Han’s) but they were more sporty. I’d say this is going to be a winter ❄️ project for me. Thanks ! (Plus look at my rod bearings too. I have over 230k on mine)
How do you know what numbers to set it on
Thanks for the video
What size is the hub nut!?
How to change the transmission fluid in that charger
How do you identify what kind of axle you have?
you didntshow where to put the fluid in at
you didn't pay attention when it was being shown being poured in
You poured in the back of the motor. where was the reservoir. Most chargers are under the car.
Great video, thanks. Does the sun shade panel go in from the top or bottom?
That blue Durango color is crazy. Keep it mopar!!!
Very nicely done - how hard, 1-10?
Most of it was bolt in parts so not bad. Maybe a 5 or so just for the amount of them. Modifying the firewall for the clutch master was trickier due to cramped quarters. Probably an 8 or so just because if you mess up you're hosed. Changing the torque tube bearings was the biggest pain though. Trying to use all thread to pull them through or a hammer. That's the 10
@@IntenseBlue318tempted to pick up a manual box as a future project. What other bits do I need?
@@MrToddgibbs torque tube, rear cross member, clutch master cutout or reprod panel, pedal assembly. Probably some other little bits
@@IntenseBlue318ok not too bad. Clutch assembly as well. Does hehe automatic bell housing bottom fit? Presumably starter motor won’t meet up with the flywheel?
@@MrToddgibbs I know for sure the bellhousings are different some years, possibly all. I think I swapped it. The lower part/cover is the same I believe though. The starter doesn't engage the flywheel, it engages the pressure plate
All that work but no test drive? Comeon man, how do they drive, how do they drive!!!?
Slide hammer works like a charm 👍🏿thank you for the vid
Cant compare one free flowing to one mounted on a radiator
did you bother reading the description? obviously not.
@@IntenseBlue318no I didn't. Just read the title. I got it now
Good video. But how the hell you walk around that gayrage?
Great job, your explanation make work much simpler
Any Help on Making Sunroof Go Up n D0wn,,, My Electrics are ALL Good ,,I took the exterior panel off to repaint & install new seals ,,Now having difficulty moving it forward n back to finish assembly ? Any Words of Wisdom would be Helpful ,,Thanks Car looks great for what you're looking for Good Luck
honestly it's been so long I can't remember. I did end up rewiring it to run off of relays and just let the switch control the relays. I couldn't ever get the switch to work well enough to be able to move it without having to help it. works fine with the relays though.
Thanks man, you save my life with 300c AWD ;)
Is it the same process? I have a 2014 300
@@LuisGarcia-gh4oo I'm not sure, mine it's a 2006 awd 300, and yes it's same.
I just use my phones GPS and odometer app. I'm done fixing non essential stuff on my 1986 928 such as Cruise control, rear hatch power switch, odometer, windshield washer motor. I just drive it 😂
Where did you buy the cv axles?
After replacing struts on the awd do you still have to do an alignment? I've never seen struts like these.
The struts don't affect alignment (other than ride height) on this car
Hey...great idea with the block of wood...worked great
Can you do a video on replacing the ignition switch? With or without removing the instrument cluster?
What oil did you use
What brand shaft is that?
Do the seals need to be replaced?
I have a 2013 Charger with a 6.4L in it but has a 5.7 intake on it, What did you do about the SRV to get them to work? I want to put a 6.4 intake on my 6.4 I have in the car but was told I have to has a harness for the SRV.
15 years.... Porsche 928... whatever.... these beasts are built for the ages... simple German brilliance.... so many abandoned 928 cars..... being awakened in 2020 era.. parts are abundant... cheap... better than any sports car out there... period... ask anyone who owned one.... torque monsters...
What can was that for the cleaning ??
I have a silver one and it’s a good a** vehicle especially 3rd row seats
Almost 25 years old and it still gives me less trouble than any other of my vehicles
Where did you source the gear?

Dude, clean up that garage....LOL
HUH!!!! doing that outside!!!!
Helpful video. Thanks!
Been working on a 79 for a year....Had it running, then a setback. Hope to get the first ride in soon.
Wait...Wait...You painted the car outside? There is stuff blowing around which can mess up the painting. You most likely embedded numerous bugs and other stuff into the paint. Yeah, I know paint booths are expensive but I got the plastic inflatable ones (not what you are initially thinking) and it worked fairly well. But it would have been good to hear you describing your technique and the gun prep.
Brilliant, this is exactly what I did using a V8 (company name) electric van designed exactly the same as your electric fan conversion and I added the cut off top of the old shroud. The only difference that I did was I wired everything together on the side under the electrical on the left to keep it bulky free. I also added a temperature sensor on the left radiator hose by splitting it.
The Deutsch connector I used started melting on me recently after 3 years. Otherwise no issues with the setup.
I know I’m years late but I don’t know if it’s been a update or anything but I installed mine with the cheaper switch and it works
Why not pour it in
Can you send me a link to the items please sir I’m having trouble finding the connection for intake module and the MDs box on American muscle say’s mustang
Thanks for the diy. This is the only one that I've seen awd.
How was those brakes were they good nice and firm?
really didn't feel different than the originals in terms of pedal feel. pedal feel just isn't the greatest in these cars.
@@IntenseBlue318 I was hoping for the positive feedback so it's not worth swapping them did you bleed them after replaced
@@IntenseBlue318 thanks
